At dusk, an orb of light hovered just beyond the horizon, casting a quiet invitation across the water. I took the photograph and then added the small spheres which move toward it. They are drawn toward the light and beyond, to something they can not see.
The light may simply be the last glow of the setting sun. Yet to me it represents something greater; universal consciousness or our Higher Power, however we may define it, the light of love or perhaps a light within ourselves that is always calling us forward.
The Quest is a meditation on this journey. On our continual search for meaning, growth, connection, and the light that guides us.
The painting extends around the outer edges of the canvas, no framing is necessary.
