About
Artist Statement
With an authentic reverence for nature, I strive to communicate the inner strength and beauty that arise from a clear mind and a pure heart.
The creative process often leads me to interpretations beyond what I initially envisioned. I lean into the unknown, allowing my subconscious to guide me. Drawing from decades of meditation and spiritual teachings, my work inevitably evolves into paintings of emotional depth - far beyond what is apparent to the casual observer.
The stylized realism of my paintings opens the mind to the imagination, guiding the viewer toward awareness and a deeper understanding of their inner life.
As I create paintings that stimulate perception, I hope to inspire people to seek inner peace. I believe it is a strength to cultivate a sense of serenity and trust in life, even as noise and chaos permeate our culture. My wish is to gently touch souls with warmth and beauty and, in so doing, help people return again and again, to the stillness and peace at the center of their being.
Bio
Margaret Biggs is a painter whose use of line, color and form communicates the healing and strength she finds in nature. Born in the Gulf South, her art is influenced by natural beauty.
An early career allowed her to live in Europe and New York, where she became familiar with the Western artistic canon. Margaret later studied under renowned artist Kerry James Marshall. She is influenced by mid-20th-century Realism and Expressionism.
Margaret found solace in nature to deal with life’s travails. She artistically converts her experiences to inspire others in their search for inner peace. Her imagery has been popular in the evidence-based Healing Arts Movement and can be found in medical facilities, hotels and businesses nationwide. Her work was a part of the Arts in Embassies program and has been featured in solo and group shows.
