My Rock and Shadow series was inspired by a photograph I took of the shore of Lake Michigan following a winter thaw. After the ice and snow melts along the shore, the rocks are evenly distributed. The low, winter light of the north casts long shadows of the small, sand hills and colorful rocks, creating a landscape of graceful fluidity. This became a representation of how we are all connected, and of the ability we each have to flow with ease through life.
Though we may often fail to calmly move through our more stressful days, it is possible even when life is full of disappointments, challenges and pain. The ability to flow easily through life is a skill we can always work on, for our entire life. In remaining in our heart center, we are better able to give our light, our love, our goodness to others. In doing so we help to heal our troubled world.
