Pouring myself deeply into my work, my paintings take on a life of their own.
This piece was initially inspired by the gorgeous sunsets on the bayou near my home. The color then took on the palette of a sunset I once witnessed over Green Bay many years ago. Allowing myself to be carried away, I realized yellow is a color of hope. As my mind became more fully immersed in this peaceful emotion, I found myself depicting the view from the west end of Santa Rosa Island, a favorite place of mine. Yet, this view could be a depiction of countless places. May it take you away to a place of hope and inner peace.
